    • Used as a tea to treat coughs, asthma, and upper respiratory tract infections
    • Historically used to treat boils, bruises, spider bites, and rashes; a decoction of the roots and leaves was used as a lotion for skin issues
    • The Ramah Navaho used a soaked plant rubbed on the throat and took it as an infusion for throat ailments
    • Used for gastrointestinal disorders, liver issues, and as a general painkiller
