PLANTING & GROWING
Thrives in moist, well-drained, humus-rich, and slightly acidic to neutral soils. It prefers loam, sandy, or rocky soil textures and is commonly found in forested or shaded, mountainous environments. It is adapted to soils that are moist in spring but may dry out later, preferring lime-free, slightly acidic conditions.
Can be planted under dappled light beneath pine trees.
